zwo seestar s30 pro review

The NEAF (Northeast Astronomy Forum) and NEAIC (Northeast Astro Imaging Conference) 2025 took place in New York state this month.

These event have become big occasions on the astrophotography scene as manufacturers often use them to launch new products.

Notably, ZWO announced that the Seestar S30 Pro will be coming out to add to the current line up of S50 and S30.

Here’s a quick summary of the key elements:

  1. Same aperture and focal length as the S30 (which are lower than with the S50), although improved quadruplet optics.
  2. Better camera and higher 8 MP resolution than both the S30 and S50.
  3. Improved 48 MP wide-angle camera.
  4. Same size and weight as the S30.

Essentially it preserves the portability of the S30 while improving the cameras.

No info on price yet and not projected to be released until later this year.
